I’m Off to See the Lasik Wizard

After lunch today I’m meeting with my new eye doctor about getting Lasik. I’m very excited. Cut me open now, I’M READY. But I need a bottle of Valium first. Not that I’d be nervous, I’ve just heard really fantastic things about Valium.

Update 2:45pm

Well I’m back from seeing the Wizard–back at home, because he dilated my eyes and now everything is fuzzy. Too fuzzy to go back to work and sit at my computer, yet not too fuzzy to work at my laptop at home (in the dark and wearing those free plastic sunglasses)… what fantastic wizardry is at work. But then again in an hour I probably won’t be able to see my own feet.

I qualify for Lasik (woo hoo for my thick German corneas!!), but the price they gave me was eight hundred bucks more than I’d been expecting. They dropped the price by three hundred when they saw my face, but it’s still a bit steep.

I’m not sure I can go the next six months eating only canned soup and PBJs. I may look for a less expensive wizard. Someone who drives an Audi instead of a BMW… Can I look up wizards online that way?
